madewell: made.well.

here's a post dedicated to one of my favorite stores. ever. I am so excited that there is a Madewell in Seattle. I'm sure the sales people think I'm crazy, I'm in that store for hours looking at every piece they have. I love how the store is merchandised, a mix of vintage and new, cool classics and edgy trends. Just thinking about it makes me smile from ear to ear (:

Here's some latest finds that I must share with you stylish beauties:

film school blazer $198

silk bromley blouse $98
high riser jeans in eclipse wash $125

I hope you have a Madewell close to you (:

the value of color

 i just finished a great class on color theory which has me looking at everything in a fresh new way, so when the fam decided to spend saturday downtown Seattle of course we popped into Nordstrom (triple reward points this weekend) I fell in love with the most unexpected little item, an iphone 4 case. Not extremely thrilling I know, but this case is a perfect reminder of value, proportion, saturated and desaturated colors and it makes me smile. Check out the other color stories the case comes in & I must mention that Melia is my accessory muse-her iphone gets an outfit change almost daily (;

isn't she pretty?

*the easter bunny is bringing them to some family members soon too!

we

Melia and I had a girl's trip to Portland for the weekend. Besides all the fun we had/got into we did have a goal for the trip: Melia's new home decor!  Couchs, accent chairs, coffee tables, lamps, gathering inspiration for patterns, colors, and design styles. Here's a few items from one of our favorite stores, West Elm, which does a great job following design trends and incorporating them into more livable & affordable pieces. I love that in Portland, Design Within Reach is only two blocks from West Elm. How fitting! It was a perfect weekend. Thanks friend (:

Tulip Leather Chair & Sweep Armchair
grey Sweep Leather Armchair

Y-Base Marble Coffee Table

Terra Cotta Table Lamp (one of Melia's fav)
Adjustable Metal Floor Lamp
Glass Link Chandelier
DWR Etch Pendant designed by Tom Dixon
West Elm's Zig Zag bath rug. Now in Melia's bath (:
Love this pattern. We were going back and forth on the color. Decided on slate, great contrast.
love new sheets.
love new pillowcases. especially grey & white stripes. had to have them.

Wait until you see the couch we found...I can't wait to start putting it altogether. Happy Monday!
